1. How much does it cost? Attend one of our webinars and we will go over the pricing options with you at that time. We have solutions for end users and CRM Partners.

Are free trials available? Yes, after attending the webinar you will be given login instructions. During the 30 day trial you can use all the features of the system but you will be limited to importing 10 records per entity.

2. Really, no code to install? Correct, Data2CRM is a hosted service so there is no software to install on the server or the client. You do need to have Silverlight 3.0 running on your client though to use the visual data mapper.

3. How easy is it? We like to say it is so easy "even a marketing person can do it". Putting aside the joking, the product is designed for use by non-programmers, but DBA's still love it.

4. What CRM systems does it work with? It works with CRM 4.0 On-line, On-Premise and Partner Hosted. It does not support 3.0.

5. What do I need to do on the CRM server to make it work? Absolutely no code needs to be installed on the CRM server. However, the CRM website must be available outside your corporate firewall for the application to be able to connect and send data to it.

Adding a New Data Source

Once you have started with the Visual Data Mapper and discover that you need additional Source CSV files for the mapping process, you can retrieve them from within the application without having to return to the New Data Map Wizard.

Create a New Attribute

If you are using a User Role with the appropriate security rights within the CRM application (System Customizer or CRM Administrator) it is possible to create new attributes for an entity if you need them for the import.

You don’t have to leave the application and return to the CRM System to perform this function.

Default Value

The Default Value feature can be used in two different ways within the Visual Data Mapper.

1. Set a value to be used for all records in a source column that have null values. This is a column specific setting.
2. Apply a fixed value for all records due to a missing source column.

Duplicate Detection

Extensive duplicate detection options of Source file and CRM records can be set from within each entity form inside the Visual Data Mapper.

Duplicate Detection settings are applied against both the Source File and records that are already in the CRM system

Find and Replace

On the Grid Level Ribbon bar there is a Find and Replace function that can be applied against the source file that is currently displayed on top.
Filter

Using the Filter feature you can quickly identify the record rows with errors.

Lookup Resolver

Using the Lookup Resolver, it is possible to import records into the CRM system that have relationships with other records.

Lookups can be resolved against records that are in the Grid only (Source files), which would be the case if this was the initial import or migration of data into CRM. Alternatively, if this is an import of data into an existing CRM system, then you can also validate the lookups against records in the CRM system.

New Data Map Wizard

This wizard takes you through the process of setting up a new data map:
• Selection of source CSV files; and
• CRM entity targets.

Picklist Mapper

The Picklist Mapper allows the user to create new mappings for the purpose of the import so that field values in the source file that aren’t in the pick list can be assigned to an existing pick list value.

This utility only creates an ‘interim’ mapping. This does not make any changes to the available pick list items in the CRM System. And although we refer to this as the Picklist Mapper, it also works the same for bit value attributes.

Preflight

Taking the frustration out of the data import and migration process is the underlying theme in Data2CRM.

As a consequence we aren’t going to allow you to do an import into CRM that will fail. The logic check for the Preflight function is applied using the Attribute Metadata retrieved from your CRM System for each field. A check is done for the following attribute elements: Type, Format, and Maximum Length.

Preview

The Preview feature presents an exceptionally valuable step in the import process to alert the user to possible unintended ‘human errors’ that might occur as a result of the import process.

Specifically, the Preview feature will allow the user to scroll through the source file grid rows and see EXACTLY how the data is mapped to the respective CRM entity(ies). If you are familiar with the preview feature in Microsoft Word Mail Merge, then you will recognize the power but yet the simplicity of use of this feature in Data2CRM

Save/Load Data Map

The Save Data Map feature will allow you to record work in progress to resume at a later login or to share data maps between CRM organizations managed under one Data2CRM Account login.

You can also use this to create maps that you will re-use for similar types of source files. At some future point we will allow users to export a Data Map and import it into another Data2CRM Account.

Sort

When you add a source file to the Visual Data Mapper the rows are displayed in the sequence they are in the CSV file.

It is possible to re-sort the data rows in either ascending or descending order by any single column.
